People can say whatever they want about Senator John McCain...but to me he's a genuine war hero. No, that doesn't mean people have to vote for him, and the way it's looking with 9 days left, he's got a huge challenge. But that's not the biggest challenge he's had in life...he's been through much, much worse than most folks can imagine.

Being shot down over hostile territory, having both shoulders and arms broken (the reason he can't raise his arms above his shoulders), and being tortured mercilessly for 5 1/2 years isn't your everyday challenge. Something most people have never experienced and I hope they never will. So if he loses on November 4, it's nothing compared to what he's been through already.

Win or lose, I will always be in awe of him and thankful for his service to our country. I salute you, Senator McCain.
