The photograph on page 11 of the October 4th YourHub was taken in the stands of Breese Stadium at Lewis Palmer High School on September 26th. The boys in the picture are the 8th grade Lewis Palmer Middle School Patriots football team cheering on the 7th graders as they defeated Creekside Middle School's Cougars to win the trophy "Spoon" in the annual Tri-Lakes rivalry game. A large crowd comprised of students, parents and siblings turned out to watch both games and were rewarded with a beautiful evening of football. The 8th grade game under the lights and a full moon presented a preview of next year when a new friendly rivalry will be born between Lewis Palmer High School and the soon to be opened Palmer Ridge High School. The 8th grade Patriot boys claimed the prized "Shovel" as they defeated the Cougars with an impressive air and ground game and a stifling defense. While in past years this annual event would have hailed the end of the rivalry for these boys as they looked forward to playing together at LPHS, the rivalry will now carry forward with the two high school teams meeting on the field at Breese Stadium in future years. Congratulations LPMS and GO PRHS!

This great team won the huge rivalry game between lewis-palmer and creekside middle schools. I, Kiel Osterman am the quarterback for the team who lead the team to victory. It was very big deal in the schools and is talked about all year. I am very proud to be part of this very amazing story and winning the prize the shovel. (in the picture im the third one from the left, with my head down, number 7)!!!!

The proud champions in this photo are also the eighth grade school mates I’ve come to know along the years. I was there cheering along for them, while playing Bass gutair in the Lewis Palmer Pep Band. I think I speak for all of Lewis Palmer when I say how trully proud we are of them for winning the shovel and spoon!

Nice story about what's becoming a great annual event. Glad the schools moved it to the beautiful new Don Breese Stadium, so more folks could be there. The good sportsmanship after the game was wonderful to see.
