Lewis Palmer Skates to Playoffs in First Season!

The Lewis Palmer Ice Hockey team finished their inaugural season with an impressive 12-4-2 record. The Rangers are the 6th seed out of 16 starting the State playoffs this Friday, February 16. LP's first game will be against Kent-Denver, the 11th seed, at the Superior ice rink in Superior Colorado (Near Boulder) at 8:15 p.m. Coach Steve Fillo is looking forward to a tight playoff race: "There are plenty of good teams this year, but not any dominant ones. This will be an exciting playoff. Any team can beat any other team this year. I expect there will be plenty of surprises." LP will practice every day this week gearing up for Friday's contest. He seems pleased with the team's performance. "I'm very proud of the way the boys have played this season, and 12-4-2 is an outstanding record for such a young team. I was even prouder of the boys last Sunday afternoon during our annual state HS Hockey coaches meeting at CHSAA. Every coach I chatted with who had played us complimented me on how hard my team plays. You can't ask for any more than that. Details and scores of all games are available on www.hockeyweb.com. Congrats to the LPHS hockey team! I have enjoyed getting involved with the team during this historic year. Thanks for keeping the community in touch with the season. Good luck in the State Playoffs, and send photos!
