My name is Dave Naumann. I am a resident in Red Rock Ranch, and a customer with Forest View Acres Water District. I am very concerned about the status of the water district, and the way they operate. The latest information we have is that a second and third leak was discovered, and once those are repaired, the operator will flush the lines, and they will test the water for drinking safety. Bottom line; while the water is running, it has not been cleared for consumption.
My efforts to contact the department of health have not been too fruitful. I have left messages to a Mike Mcarthy at the El Paso County Health Department, and never heard from him. I can't get a straight answer from anyone at the state level as far as if the district management people are actually reporting this to the state or not. It is frustrating to say the least.
If you have any suggestions I would appreciate it. I did attend the last water board meeting, and basically a lawyer did all the talking for the district management people, so I'm pretty much at a loss. We would like to know if this situation is actually being reported to the state health department or not.
I'm willing to attempt some citizen journalism here if it will help our situation. Right now however; we would like an estimate on when the water will be cleared to drink. this is an issue that has the potential to effect a lot of people in Colorado in the not too distant future.

Just a note to update: the boil order was lifted verbally by the Department of Health on Fri June 1. Flyers will be distributed Sat June 2. While we are out of the woods for now, we still have some issues that need to be resolved such as trying to get the current water board president to leave, and whether or not the operations people are really serving us in a competent way. More later. Dave Naumann
