Longtime Tri-Lakes resident Charlie Searle, sales associate and e-Commerce Manager for Saturn of Chapel Hills, has been named a Phil Long "Grand Master Elite" for his sales production in 2007. The honor, which represents the highest recognition on Phil Long's performance scale, is based on sales volume and customer satisfaction rating.
"There's a definite connection between having happy customers and being a high-volume producer," says Saturn of Chapel Hills general manager Jeff Eberhart. "The guys in this business who take care of their customers benefit from repeat business and referrals, and that kind of loyalty, along with a great rapport with his customers and co-workers, is what has enabled Charlie to reach this level. His results in '07 represent the best individual sales performance in our store's nine-year history, and we all take a lot of pride in his recognition by the Phil Long organization."
Searle, who began with Saturn of Chapel Hills in 2003 and was the store's top salesman in 2005 and '06, was one of only three Saturn representatives in Colorado to meet the requirements for Grand Master Elite in 2007. He and his wife Cheryl (a customer service rep for Aerials Gymnastics) have three children: Mike, a sophomore at Lewis-Palmer High, Caitlin, a freshman at L-P, and Sarah, a fourth-grader at Prairie Winds Elementary. Searle moved to the Tri-Lakes area in 1988 to teach tennis at Woodmoor Country Club, and spent thirteen years as a magazine writer and editor for Searle Publishing Company in Monument and Littleton. His parents, Stan and Lorna Searle, owned and operated Tri-Lakes Cable from 1985-2000 and raise Texas Longhorn cattle on Searle Ranch near Monument.
"I'm very fortunate to have put down roots at our Chapel Hills location, with its close proximity to the Tri-Lakes area," says Searle. "This gives me the opportunity to do business with neighbors, my kids' classmates and their families, and people whom I've been crossing paths with around Monument for a long time."
Regarding his pace-setting performance in '07, Searle states that "a great deal of the credit goes to the Saturn and Phil Long management team, who support the sales staff 100% and are dedicated to our individual and collective success. Saturn has done its part by providing us with a lineup of easy-to-sell cars and SUVs, and Saturn customers are fiercely loyal and a pleasure to work with.
"Our sales environment has a lot to do with the customers' satisfaction as well-we believe that buying a car should be fun and exciting, not an ordeal. But it's my wife Cheryl who is the main reason I'm where I am today. She's been a consistently positive force in the midst of what can be a very unpredictable and demanding way of life."
As for an encore in '08, Searle says "I'm still learning in this business, with plenty of room for improvement. That's the exciting part!If I ever figure out what I'm doing, look out!"
