Twenty-eight teens gathered Jan. 3 at the Monument Library to enjoy snacks, games and a brief escape from home.
Especially popular was Guitar Hero, a new video game with realistic guitar-shaped controllers. Other games included Cranium and Guesstures.
A large group began the evening playing Mad Gab and all later enjoyed exchanging such "stupid gifts" as a whoopee cushion, Etch a Sketch and a vintage wide tie.
Two departing teens were heard to tell their parents the event was "excellent."
Local teens who have ideas for future events or would like to help in other ways should call the library at 488-2370 and ask for Diane.
