Britney Ghee has a marvelous facility for meeting life's challenges with a poise and maturity beyond her years. Sandy Taylor, CEO of Girl Scouts Wagon-Wheel Council, says, "She is self assured and always manages to land with both feet on the ground."

At the tender age of seven, Britney experienced her mother's battle with breast
cancer. Just before her 10th birthday, she lost her father to cancer. A few years later Britney, who comes from an interracial family, struggled with moving to a new city and developing a capacity to thrive in a school community with few people of color. But thrive she has.

Britney has received recognition for outstanding achievement in the UCCS
Engineering Challenge, been awarded a medal from Daughters of the American
Revolution and is an accomplished musician and athlete. She plays piano, harp, and golf.

As a longtime Girl Scout, Britney has developed a compassion for others and a
giving spirit. She has participated in numerous service projects through the years. Britney is currently involved withLPHS StudentCouncil (Class Vice President), Serteen, serves on the Board of Directors for Girl
Scouts-Wagon Wheel Council, is an LPHS peer counselor, member of the deabte team, treasurer of the current affairs club, and apart of the Colmen Foods Eco Project.

"Britney's qualities include honesty, leadership, courage and commitment to any project she takes on," adds her nominator. "She is creative and a good problem solver." Britney hopes to go to college and join the Peace Corps.
