Haunted Mines partners Steve Roscio and Tim Wittwer presented a check for $62,353 to Western Museum of Mining and Industry Director, David Carroll, Monday, November 19, at the Museum. Half of the donated amount will be reinvested next year in the Halloween attraction located on the Museum's property. The remaining $31,177 will go toward preserving and presenting the history and heritage of mining in the West.
In addition to this contribution, the nonprofit Haunted Mines organization donated a 1000 square foot building valued at over $75,000 to the Museum for future use.
The Museum is open Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and has special exhibits, lectures, and events throughout the year to include the Haunted Mines reopening October 2008. Tours are free with admission at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. School and group tours are also available with advance reservation at a discounted price.
