Imagine going to Joyrides, Colorado College hockey games, and Broncos cheerleader signings and earning some spare cash doing it. I don't have to imagine! I am a YourHub Street Team Member and I couldn't imagine having a better job.
The purpose of my job is to tell people about YourHub at ColoradoSprings.com while giving out a few freebies. I go all over southern Colorado to different events talking to the residents and informing them about this amazing online community. I've gone everywhere from Joyrides on Platte to the Monument Branch Library to the Sand Creek Craft Fair giving away candy, chapsticks, and dog leashes. I get to wear jeans and a t-shirt (with YourHub printed on it of course). I don't have to sell anything, I just have to tell people about YourHub and how to sign up.
I usually start the conversation with something along the lines of, "Hey guys, what's up?" or "How's it going?" and I start a conversation. From there, I will talk for a minute or two to see if anything comes up that the people could publish on YourHub. If nothing comes up, I tell them about YourHub and many times, they talk to each other and say, "Oh, I bet Jesse would like that." If something does appear that they could publish, I continue with, "Have you heard about YourHub at ColoradoSprings.com?" One of two things happens next: they say, "No, I'm not interested" or "Is that the car-wash place?" If the first of those two is the response I give them a generic info card on YourHub and let them go on their way. If they choose the later (which I have heard many times), I give a 30 second speech about the site and how fun and cool it is. After people have heard that, they seem to be interested and usually ask a few questions of their own. Then I finish up with a, "Enjoy the game!" or "Good luck at your race!" and move to the next group for another casual conversation.
