My niece, Kasey, is graduating from high school in June. She and her family moved to California a couple years ago, and live in Valencia. Not only did Kasey have to start all over making friends, she started all over again in the water, on the swim team.
I am so proud of all her accomplishments.
She holds the 50-free record for Valencia High School, 24.18. She is also part ofeach relay team that hold school records, 200 medley relay, 200 free relay, and 400 free relay. I know it sounds like I'm bragging, and I am, because I'm her Aunt.
Should I go on? She's a 3.9 GPA student and in the top 10% of her senior class at Valencia High.
Just two weeks ago she signed with University of Nevada at Reno (UNR) and has a scholarship for tuition and books. And she's on the swim team.
I think she is an excellent role model for my three girls, and the real beauty is to watch her with them. Even though the age difference is over 8 years, and they get together maybe once a year, they bond immediately. When we saw her in Arizona over spring break, all four girls ended up sleeping on the floor in sleeping bags.
In the morning we had to get on the road for home, and my middle daughter was crying for Kasey. I went back inside,(around 6 a.m.) and got Kasey up and she came out to the truck without asking why or getting mad at me for waking her. Watching them hug was a tear jerker.
I am so excited to go to Kasey's graduation, and I am sure some of you out there have great stories to tell about your kids, niece, friend, family member, who is graduating. You can brag about them. Please share those stories on YourHub.
