Should Colorado Springs be more vocal in its support of the Piñon Canyon Expansion? Colorado Springs resident and former Fort Carson chief of staff David Hughes thinks so.

In a piece he recently posted on the Old Colorado City YourHub site, Hughes wrote, "The state of Colorado, Colorado Springs and El Paso County sure love the federal income pouring in from Fort Carson. But they are strangely silent on helping the Army acquire the land it and its soldiers need."
