World-Class Beatles Show, Created by Louise Harrison, Brings Peace and Love to 9,242 Feet
Alamosa, Colo. (Aug. 6, 2008) - The Rio Grande Scenic Railroad is ready to "Twist and Shout" on the tracks.
On Aug. 22 and 23, the Liverpool Legends, the Ultimate Beatles Tribute Group, created by Louise Harrison (sister of original Beatle George Harrison) is set to take the stage on top of La Veta Pass performing songs that span the entire career of this legendary group.
"Without a doubt, the Beatles are back and playing in the most unique of all concert settings on top of a mountain," said John Thomas, vice president of sales and marketing for the Rio Grande Scenic Railroad. "We're excited to bring this authentic Beatlemania to Colorado in our exclusive concert setting only accessible by train."
As part of the Rio Grande Scenic Railroad's High Altitude Concert Series, the Liverpool Legends have been transported from their theater in Branson, Mo., and future site of the nation's only permanent Beatles Museum opening in 2009, featuring items from Louise's personal collection never before displayed to the public. The Rio Grande Scenic Railroad is also holding a "Best Beatle Look-a-Like" contest with a $200 gift card going to the winner.
Considered the "Ultimate Beatles Experience," this is the only group in the world with a direct biological connection to the original Fab Four. In 2005, Louise Harrison created the group of four musicians and actors out of a need to recreate Beatles magic that she witnessed first hand traveling with "her kid brother's band." The Liverpool Legends has received worldwide raves, performed on The Travel Channel's "Beatlemania Britain," headlined International British Week in Liverpool, and recorded at the famed Abbey Road Studios in London.
The Rio Grande Scenic Railroad has the only ticket to these exclusive concerts in an outdoor amphitheater dotted by aspens and pines set among the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Tickets are $59 per night, and include one round-trip ride, out of La Veta or Alamosa, on the Rio Grande Scenic Railroad's
Highnote Express.
