Christian authors gather for book signing
Contributed by: Donita K. Paul on 10/7/2006

Where can you meet and talk with 26 award-winning Colorado Christian authors in one place on the same day? Head to Mardel's Christian Book Store, 5964 Barnes Road, for an "Author Extravaganza" book signing from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 14, promising to be the biggest book-signing gathering of published Christian authors in Colorado Springs ever.
Meet Beverly Lewis, author of more than 70 books, including "The Preacher's Daughter" and her newly released "The Brethren," both in her "Annie's People" series set in Pennsylvania's Amish country.
Donita K. Paul, author of several romance books and the popular "Dragonkeeper Chronicles" fantasy series, will be on hand to sign her critically acclaimed "DragonSpell," "DragonQuest" and "DragonKnight" (Scott--These are correct in one-word, initially capped format) novels.
Paul McCusker, prolific writer of full-length plays, skit collections, screenplays, lyrics and more than 30 published novels, will sign some of his works, including "The Mill House" and "A Season of Shadows." McCusker also is the producer, writer and director for Focus on the Family's "Adventures in Odyssey" radio series.
That's just a taste of what's in store during the "Author Extravaganza" on Oct. 14. Find a complete listing of authors and signing times below. For information, call Sandy or Lisa at 573-0402.

My! What an exhaustive list of CBA affiliated authors! Just more proof that Christian bookstores serve a particular market when it comes to fiction. There doesn't seem to be one Christian author on this list who writes for the general Christian market as I do and not the coservative CBA Christian market, set up to protect visitors to Christian bookstores. When will Christian bookstores make it clear to readers that they do not serve the general Christian market and only carry non affiliated books when the money is more than they can ignore with "The Shack" by William P. Young being the most recent book in my mind to show this mentality. Not being written by a CBA affiliated author nor supported by a CBA affiliated publisher, Christian author William Young never showed up in a Christian bookstore. After overwhelming sales, he's now on the CBA top seller listed. Oh, yes, rating! Well certainly 5 star if you enjoy CBA Christian fiction. :)
