Blog Entry 1 of 19 Reflections From the Second Half
Musings of one with half a century (or more) gone. What is really important. What should have been done. What should have been said. Who is saying it.

Who is Gary Dale Rose?
Contributed by: Jeff Boesel   on 5/8/2008

Who was Gary Dale Rose?

I sat on his bench today,
In a park
Facing a pond.
Just a simple concrete bench;
Rather hard,
A little cold.

He is sadly missed, it seems,
By his wife
And all his kids,
Or so says the small plaque
At my feet
Set in the stone

Do they come and sit here now
And think back,
And smile, and cry?
He was 50 when he died.
I'm 52,
So I wonder...

Who was Gary Dale Rose?

Lynet, if you check back here, I don't know. As I said in the poem, I just happended to be sitting on a bench dedicated to this guy. The bench was in Sacramento, CA. How many Gary Dale Roses could be out there that age? Interesting...

Who was this Gary Dale Rose? Was he from Texas originally? I was once married to a Gary Dale Rose who would have been 50 in May... could this be the same Gary?
