Overcoming Your Challenge
Contributed by: Kevin Gifford   on 2/4/2008

You never know when a tough challenge is going to turn up. It could be today, tomorrow or in the next few weeks. When a challenge presents itself, what will you see in it? What's going to be your first response? Will you look at this as an insurmountable setback, or will you find within it an opportunity to grow and move yourself forward?

"A gem cannot be polished without friction, nor man perfected without trials."
Chinese Proverb

If you look back, you'll see that you have made it through every single challenge you have ever faced. Some of these challenges where more than likely very difficult, and yet they more than likely succeeded in strengthening you in some way. Think about it, these situations have probably taught you a thing or two, and are possibly some of your most valuable experiences.

Look at it this way, even if your troubles were multiplied by one hundred, they could not exceed the magnitude of the possibilities, joy and promise the future holds for you. Face those challenges that may be coming your way head-on, embrace them as an opportunity instead of a setback, and learn for each of them. More importantly, know that you are capable of facing any challenge, no matter who you are.

"Challenges are what make life interesting;
overcoming them is what makes life meaningful."
- Joshua J. Marine

When confronted with a challenge, refuse to let it intimidate you. When it seems you can't go on, go on. Think of yourself as an irresistible force that can charge through any immovable object. Understand that each challenge, if embraced properly, can be an incredible opportunity for you to leap forward. In fact, the opportunities contained within a challenge might be just what you were looking for.

Have a wonderful and blessed week,
Kevin

"Nothing is more resilient than the human spirit." I can't take credit for that quote but forgot who said it. Anyway I've been through so many challenges in life and have grown stronger because of it. It's not necessarily the experience that makes you stronger, but how you dealt with the situation. Thanks Kevin for the advice!
