Reflections From the Second Half
Musings of one with half a century (or more) gone. What is really important. What should have been done. What should have been said. Who is saying it.

Today is our 30th wedding anniversary. It seems there are too few lyrics written to celebrate life together so, several years ago, I set out to change that. Here is what I came up with. I hope you enjoy it and choose to be thankful again for the special people in your life.
You say that my romance is sorely lacking.
I've missed some opportunities
To show my love, it's true.
If I had the chance
I might change a thing or two
But I'd never change the choice I made
To spend my life with you
Now, I may be a little short on wisdom.
When God passed out the common sense
He passed me up for you.
I've said some things I shouldn't have
And acted like a fool
But when we stood there at the altar, I had
The sense to say "I do."
Some folks say I'm a fossil.
Others think I'm crazy
Not to try someone new.
If somehow I had to do it all again
I'd want to do it all again with you.
Life is not a holiday and
If we're gonna make it through
We've got to hold on to somebody, so,
You hold on to me
And I'll hold on to you.
I don't care if I'm a fossil.
I could look forever
And never find someone like you
If somehow I had to do it all again
I'd want to do it all again with you.

Certainly, Earl. Congrats to you as well! Sorry to be late in getting you a response. I have been behind Cheyenne Mtn without any kind of reception for a while.
