Want to make your clothes smell fresh and clean? Reduce static cling? And save a few bucks?
Try these tips:
1. Instead of using bleach on your next load of
whites:
- Mix 1/4 cup of lemon juice with 1/4 cup white vinegar in a gallon of warm water.
- Soak the clothes for 15 minutes before washing...you'll love the results.
-
Remember, only use this for clothes that you would normally bleach!
2. Instead of using a store-bought fabric softener:
- Add about 1/4 cup of white vinegar during the final rinse.
- Not only will your clothes smell great, they will not have any of that softener buildup.
3. Or, you can make your own fabric softener sheets:
- In a spray bottle, combine 2/3 cup of cool water with 1/3 cup
liquid fabric softener and shake well to combine.
- Take an old, clean washcloth (white is best) and spray the
washcloth with the solution you've made.
- Throw the washcloth into your dryer with your clothes.
- Each time you dry a new load of clothes, be sure to first shake the
spray bottle, then spray the washcloth again.
- Not only will this make your clothes nice and soft, it will also help
reduce static cling.
