My husband and I live in Rockford, Illinois. It's not the worst place on the planet but.....we would really like to move to Colorado to be closer to my son and his family.

I guess the purpose of my story or "request" is to try and extract some positives from the people of the Springs about their city. Or if I have a question...someone could help me with it. I also might be able to shed some light on the things that I see that are much better in Colorado compared to Illinois. Property taxes for instance, you guys really are very fortunate there.

Now to be clear, I really don't need a good reason to move there....I already have that. This is my granddaughter, Reagan and she lives in OCC. She just had her 3rd birthday and I missed it! WHAT A PIRATE AFFAIR!
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!

My first question:
Is Manufacturing on the rise there, or struggling like we are? My boss just informed us that if steel prices keep going up we are going to be in trouble. He stated that by June if the expected increases occur, we will not be profitable on one single item that we produce. We make washers for the automotive companies, so you all know what that means. I'm just curious, obviously choice of career will come into play with this long distance move.
