Contributed by: amy whitesell on 5/3/2008

Colorado Springs may be a long way from any coastline but on May 22 the beach will come to the Thirsty Parrot, 32 S. Tejon. Kahuna Beach Party brings the surf music sounds of the Beach Boys to town for a night of great music, memories and fun. Tickets are $14 in advance and $19 the day of show. A special VIP ticket is $50 and includes dinner, drink and reserved seat. Tickets may be purchased at the Thirsty Parrot or for online sales at www.amusiccompanyinc.com. Doors open at 7 p.m. and show time is 8 p.m.

Kahuna Beach Party isn't just a band--it's an event! With a mix of music, comedy, and audience participation, Kahuna Beach Party is a seven-man show that will knock your socks off. Allseven members are first rate singers and accomplished musicians with many years of performance and recording experience. All songs are performed just as you remember them. It's a "top down" cruise through all the big harmonies and twangy guitars. How about Little Deuce Coupe and I Get Around? And who hasn't had dreams about the Little Surfer Girl? The Fun, Fun, Fun includes activities like a hula hoop contest and you can show us your best moves in the surfboard riding contest!

During the summer months, Kahuna Beach Party performs at numerous State Fairs. Robert C. Wagoner, General Manager of the North Dakota State Fair says "The band did a masterful job blending their tunes to the evening's theme and working the crowd with great professionalism. Some danced, some sat and listened, some sang along, some kept the beat and reminisced while viewing the classic cars, but ALL thoroughly enjoyed the evening and Kahuna Beach Party." "We saw the Kahuna Beach Party showcase last autumn at the Rocky Mountain Association of Fairs convention and thought immediately that they would be perfect on a stage near the pond in the center of our grounds. The show, full of great old surf music set audiences tapping toes, was an obvious match for Montana Fair." explains Sandra Hawke, Marketing Director for the Montana State Fair. Kahuna Beach are scheduled to perform at the Colorado state Fair in 2008.
