PPBR Inducted into the " Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame"
Contributed by: jane rodgers on 7/14/2008

I was honored to be invited to the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame on July 12 2008 for the Induction of our own Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo. The PPBR was one of the 16 new entries chosen to be inducted into the Rodeo Hall of Fame from 700 rodeos throughout the country. The two local rodeos inducted were the National Western stock Show and Rodeo in Denver and our own "Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo" in Colorado Springs .

Besides our two local rodeos, two of the other Inducties that I took pictures of was Bobby Hurley team roper and Paul Tierney all -around Cowboy. Tierney was the world tie-down roping champion in 1979. He became the the second cowboy to surpass $100,000 in earnings during a single season.

Bobby Hurley held a share of the National Finals Rodeo record for several years clocking 4.3-second runs in 1998. Hurley retired in 2003 with career earnings of $1,006,390.

I have to say, this had to be one of the most exciting events that I have ever had the privilege of attending and the honor of photographing.

Most of the pictures that you are about to see are from the Hall of Fame and the Inducties. I did add a few Rodeo pictures, Queens of the Rodeo's around the country, and pictures of some interesting people that I normally photograph in the Rodeo's VIP room . So please go to the Hub and check out the rest of the photos . I will have some interesting rodeo pictures in a future story, thanks
