Our new Joan of Arc, Jeanne Assam

I just watched the press conference at New Life Church by the Colorado Springs and Arvada Police, over the killings both in Arvada and in Colorado Springs by heavily armed (assault rifle, two handguns and a back pack with 'thousands' of rounds in it) Matthew Murray 24.

After killing two young girls in the parking lot of the church, inside of which there were up to 7,000 worshippers, he shot up the door and then went inside, shooting. One man there was wounded.

But 42 year old single, blonde Jeanne Assam, who was one of the volunteer 'security guards' for the large church, not in any uniform, and armed with only a handgun, hurried to confront firing Murray, ordered him to surrender, while he was firing loudly and refusing, started shooting at him, and in her own words 'took him down.' He was killed.

And Jeanne, full of the power of God in her heart, and she said very calm, shot it out and killed the killer before he hit anyone else.

She had some previous law enforcement experience, and said she had to pull her gun many times before, but never had shot her gun.

This was the first time.

She insisted that it was just her, the killer, and God. And God was with her.

This young woman is our very own Joanne of Arc!

More later, as I reedit and add to it. (I won't place comments on my own stories because they (1) can't be edited and (2) are limited to number of 'characters' 1000 (3) there is no way to know how many words you have left while writing.

Now why does Ms Assasm remind me of her? For one, she has absolute religious faith, and is not ashamed to admit it. Secondly, while everyone else hearing the shots fled, fearing for their lives, she walked right into the evil face of danger and confronted it. Thirdly, totally outgunned she was able to hit him with a handgun to the point he not only stopped, but shot himself, defeated.

And, like the original Joan of Arc, who was burned at the stake, she will also be burned at the Media Stake.

Well, its interesting that a lot of the Colorado Springs public did NOT like Media, and especially the Gazette, burning Jeanne - "Joan of Arc" - Assam at the Media State when it headlined her troubles in Minnesota 10 years ago. The Gazette got SO MANY angry letters, by email and otherwise, that Jeff Thomas, the Gazette Editor, felt compelled to write a long editorial himself explaining the flap. Very unusual. I did not think his explanation and excuses. Even to the point of blaming the narrow front page column's effect on readers, and that Ms Assam would not be interviewed for that 'story' Weak. Very Weak. She did NOT seek publicity, preferred not to be interviewed in the first place. What would the GT reporter ask her? "Did you lie in Minnesota" As I said in my own blast at the GT, her 'past' was IRRELEVANT to the incident in Colorado Springs. So Media got deservedly burned itself for a change. Lets see if they change their behavior.

The details are now out how she handled the incident. (1) she went to the hallway where he was shooting and advancing (2) she stayed back until he got closer (3) she stepped out in his plain view and told him repeatedly to surrendet (4) she kept advancing and fired 5 times at him with a 9mm pistol (5) she only missed once, hitting him in the wrist, off the AK47 stock and two times in the leg (6) he went down, then shot himself in the head with one of his 9mm. (7)what she did would, for even a well trained male soldier be very difficult in the face of his firing. Brave calm woman.

Yep, I told you all. Already the Gazette Telegraph, with a front page, big headline story "GUARD FIRED IN '97 FOR LYING" is burning innocent Jeanne Assam at the MEDIA Stake. Just like Joan of Arc was burned at the stake. I hate modern US media, which, for ratings (thus advertising money) would sell their own mothers.
