Hi everyone! my name is Jane Rodgers [people call me Boston ], "Go Red Sox,"woops ", that was a slip of my fingers,I meant to write "Go Rockies ". I know many of you already have read my stories and have seen quite a few of my pictures. So, rather then do another boring story ,I am going to show you a few pictures of my Colorado travels and adventures in the 1 and 1/2 years that I have been in the Springs. I will just post a little blog under- neath the picture with a little explanation about the photo.
But before I show my pictures I have to tell you about this group of people that I met last Thursday at the "Cucuru Gallery Cafe" in Old Colorado City. [ next door to the Front Range BBQ ]. These groups are called meet-up groups. I had never heard about these groups until my Hub journalist Danny Summers sent me an invite via e-mail . So, I decided to go to see what all the 'hub-bub' was all about.
There were writers, journalists novelists, poets, self helpers, humorists and photographers. I felt like I was a little out of my league. I mean, there were even writers with books already published. But after Danny presented his part of the program telling people how the Hub can help them; and the group organizer Karen Linamen [ who herself is a full time writer with 10 books in print] talked about what this group was all about , I felt much more comfortable. I of course mentioned to all that I am not a writer. My passion is photography, but my hopes were to find someone that I could confide in to help me write my memoirs, or at least tell me how to start them. *I am already getting some feed back from people in the group on how to start my memoirs. I know I would have a best seller if it was published. Now THATS the confidence that I came home with after one night with this group of amazing people.*Do you see that I used the words "I know" instead of "I think". Now, is that confidence or what?
If your interested in one of these groups all you have to do is go to meet up .com and put what you are interested in and your zip code to find a group in your area. If your interested in writing or photography please go to this page and come to our next meeting.
Anyway, my intention when I started was to show some of my photos and that is what I am going to do. So grab your self a cup of cappucino or maybe a stiff drink and relax because there are going to be quite a few pictures to see.

Jane, since when are you not a writer? I loved the spunk behind the words in your article. Your spirit shines through. The sunset picture is bound to be the cover of a novel--maybe one of mine (hint, hint) :) Or, a coffee table book of photograhy by Jane???
