Evergreen Cemetery Memorial Day

In addition to the days Memorial Activites at Evergreen Cemetery, The Evergreen Cemetery Ladies invited local reenactors to portray various eras in American Military History for this years Memorial Day Celebration.
The participants portrayed Soldiers from the following eras;
U.S. Civil War: Union Infantry Sergeant
World War I: German Foot Soldier, British Corporal
World War II: Early and Late War German Infantry, Polish Armija Krajowa (Polish Home Army) Partisan Soldier, U.S. Army Staff Sergeant.
Viet Nam Conflict, Early War U.S. Army First Sergeant, Late War U.S. Army Soldier.
The displays included a various array of weapons and equipment used in the various conflicts, and campaign banners from various U.S. wars.
Veterans, children, and Adults alike enjoyed the displays and being able to ask the participants about their portrayals and equipment. Some of the guests included the Boy Scouts and the American Heritage Girls.
The Memorial events included the Buffalo Soldiers, Bag Pipers, and a Balloon release memorial to our fallen soldiers.

Thank you ladies. It was certainly a pleasure to be a part of Memorial Day, and the local reenactors really look forward to next year being an even better display and memorial honor to those fallen in defense of our Great Nation.

The Memorial Day event was a great success. The men and women who attended this event as re enactors gave of their time to honor members of wars past and present. They had no shortage of questions from all attendees. It would not have been a success without their efforts. Thank you
