The Recent shooting at New Life Church
Contributed by: Patricia Moore   on 12/12/2007

I actually logged on to post a new channeling that I had channeled in today and I might do that. However, I saw that Tim wanted us to post our thoughts on the recent shooting at the New Life Church here in Colorado Springs.

Well, I saw the news, and blew it off. To sit there and listen how someone just called forth her belief in the Holy Spirit consistently while thumping the Bible was a big turnoff for me. Although the facts are still at large as to why there was a shooting at the New Life Church is a reminiscent fact that society is changing its view on Christianity. While many are still holding it together, there are those who are in the process of shaking off their belief system and saying "no more." I strongly feel the shooter was making a valid point about Christianity even though he seemed to undermine himself in a the most negative way while harming innocent individuals in the process. I am positive he could have carried his message via the way of light rather than in anger and vengeance; however, isn't that what the Christian religion is based on? A vengeful god = vengeful congregation? No, you say; why not? Well, it was a few weeks ago when a fellow player committed an outburst in our online role-playing game -- "Death to Pagans," he yelled. More wrongfulness from this religion -- will it ever cease? Where is the love? Was there ever love in this religion? If so, it was short-lived, especially through the Inquisition during the Gothic, Low, Middle High Ages and the Renaissance-era in Europe. Even now churches and their congregations are incapable of accepting religions other than their own. Apparently the 10 Commandments seem to go so far and then stop. Obviously the shooter thought so.

My 2 cents worth. Well, maybe 3.
