Drinking milk depletes bone mass
Contributed by: Craig Sommerdorf on 4/3/2008

If you continue to listen to and follow the advice from mainstream media, the dairy industry or even from your doctor, to consume low fat milk, cheese or yogurt to get your daily servings of calcium to prevent osteoporosis, you're doomed. Only your own self-education on this matter will save you from a lifetime of health problems.

The media and the dairy industry have programmed all of us since birth to believe that drinking your milk is essential for good strong healthy bones. There have been many studies to prove that drinking milk is detrimental to your health. People living in nations where they drink and eat the most dairy products are the ones with the highest rates of osteoporosis and heart disease.

Milk and dairy products have tremendous amounts of sulfur, which is the culprit that accelerates heart disease and bone loss. Animal protein is very different from plant protein because animal protein has a lot more of two amino acids, methianine and cysteine. These amino acids have sulfur as their central atom.

The primary dietary cause of osteoporosis is not the lack of calcium intake, but rather the consumption of highly acidic foods and food ingredients, such as refined white sugar, refined white floor, high-fructose corn syrup, soft drinks, cookies, candies, and anything containing sweeteners.

Your body must maintain a specific ph level to support human health. Consuming highly acidic foods or drinking milk that is also acidic, forces your body to find a way to buffer the acidity. Your body does this by reaching into your skeletal system to find those alkaline minerals, such as calcium and magnesium, to release those minerals into your bloodstream.

Drinking your milk not only weakens your bones, but it also contributes to constipation, congestion, asthma and sinus problems. I have seen the health benefits myself from living a healthy lifestyle and in case you have not guessed it by now, no I do not drink or consume any dairy products.
