Manitou Farmers Market Celebrates the Flavor of Life
Manitou Springs (April 21, 2007) Ahh! The sweet smell of spring! With April showers in full effect and the anticipation of the last frost of the season, shoppers and vendors can now begin preparing for one of the most unique farmer's market in the Pikes Peak region...the ever popular Farmer's Market Festival in downtown Manitou Springs.
Manitou Springs will kick off its Midweek Market Wednesday, June 13 th. Soda Springs Park will be home for the market again this year. Expect to see the park full of unique vendors, each offering a piece of the Colorado farming tradition. From cherries and peaches to potatoes and onions, shoppers will find the freshness they are looking for to compliment a healthy Colorado lifestyle.
In keeping with Manitou tradition, market shoppers will also be able to find unique retail items, from hand-made instruments and colorfully blown glass, to patch work dresses and purses. Downtown merchants add to the market experience with booths selling toys, hand carved walking sticks, books on gardening and jewelry.
Along with the many advantages to buying directly from the grower or creator, the market also serves as a social affair. Each Market will showcase music from different genres. Carlos Crull and his crew of musical masterminds will entertain shoppers while they thumb through booths and find perfect peaches, tasty specialty foods, Colorado wines, or sample homemade soaps. And when all the shopping is complete, the pavilion dance floor, on-site food court and cold draft beer is very inviting.
