The final FutureSelf art workshop of 2007 was hosted this past weekend at the Business of Art Center in Manitou Springs. Despite the inclement weather and some students having to travel all the way from the Black Forest area, the weekend was a huge sucess, serving 33 students. With the leadership of five volunteer (adult) assistants and two advanced student-mentors, young people created works of art in encaustic (painting with hot wax and pigment), weaving, origami, touch-drawing (oil paint) and collage vision boards.

FutureSelf is a nonprofit organization that serves disadvantaged youth ages 12 to 19 with art programs and workshops designed to further their individual self-expression.
