Rev Your Engines for the Rocky Mountain Concours!

The Broadmoor Hotel will once again host the Rocky Mountain Concours d'Elegance, Labor Day weekend. Truly "Art on Wheels", this Concours will feature over 200 world-class automobiles and motorcycles, and include a tribute to Al and Bobby Unser and the Unser family's achievements at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. The Unsers are considered the first family of the hill climb with 39 overall or class wins.

More than 30 Vincent motorcycles premiere engineering will be on display, along with some fantastic Colorado Car club exhibitions.

Speed Channel's Dennis Gage, from "My Classic Car", will be filming a 2009 episode. Clive Cussler, noted author and automobile collector, will be present on Saturday, Aug. 30, , at the Broadmoor's Library Bookstore for a book signing.

The festivities begin with a Reception d' Elegance on Friday, Aug. 29.On Saturdaythe entrants will assemble at 8 a.m. for the Tour d'Elegance, traveling up the Pikes Peak Highway, down through the Garden of the Gods on their way to Glen Eyrie Castle for lunch. The tour continues through downtown Colorado Springs, asit makesits way back to The Broadmoor.Join the Unsers at the Gala Dinner in the International Center the night of the 30th, for a dining, dancing, and stories from the Hill Climb.

On Sunday, Aug.31, the automobiles and motorcycles will be on public display on the Concours d'Elegance showfield located on The Broadmoor's West Golf Course. The showfield includes a tent displaying the achievements of the Unser family, and a display recognizing the history and innovation of the British Vincent motorbikes. Judges will award trophies to the best in each of 20 classes of automobiles andeight classes of motorcycles, as well as many corporate-sponsored and specialized awards. The day culminates in the highest honors, the Broadmoor Cup and the Best in Show trophies in automobiles and motorcycles.

The showfield is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and tickets can be purchased at www.rmconcours.com, through Tickets West, or at any King Soopers in Colorado. Advance ticket sale prices start at $29 for general admission ($40 day of event), with VIP level tickets that include great food, drink, event program, poster, and VIP parking for $179. Discounted tickets prices are available for active duty and retired military members, senior citizens, and students. AFA Cadets and children age 12 and under are admitted free of charge.

Proceeds from the gala evening Sat., Aug 30, will benefit the Sentinels of Freedom Scholarship Foundation for severly disabled veterans, Sunny Vista Living Center and the Iacocca Foundation. On Monday, Labor Day, The Broadmoor will host the Rocky Mountain Charitable Golf Classic benefiting Sentinels of Freedom.
