Manitou Springs Public Library continues its summer series of Library Lawn Concerts Tuesday evening, July 15, 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. with Nashville sensation Vanessa Singer. The library is located at 701 Manitou Avenue in Manitou Springs.Singer was born into music. Her father, Hank Singer, is a long time Nashville session musician, and she has been raised right in the middle of it all. At the age of 10,Singer began performing live around Nashville and Leiper's Fork, Tennessee and Colorado sharing the stage with some of the most talented and well known musicians in Nashville. When she was 11, she recorded her first CD. Singer has played at The Ryman in Nashville, by request of the legendary George Jones, opening shows for him when she was 12, 14, and in May of 2008. At the age of 14, she went on her first national tour playing twin fiddles with her father on tour with Lee Ann Womack. In December of 2007,Singer performed for ten days at The Broadmoor as part of Suzy Bogguss' Colorado Christmas show. Now 16,Singer has recorded her second CD, singing, playing fiddle and guitar.She and her brothers enjoy making music together and are thankful to be growing up in Music City where the opportunities are right out their door. Concert-goers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and a picnic supper to enjoy a night out with family and friends to picnic and listen to great music in an outdoor venue.
