Train derails in Fountain

According to Fountain Police, on June 18 at 6:42 a.m., approximately 8 rail cars derailed from the tracks between Mesa Road and Comanche Village road. The cars were close to the center of the train. No injuries were reported and the derailment did not affect morning traffic, other than spectators looking at the derailed cars. What caused the derailment is still under investigation. More information will be released as information it is obtained.
