What's growing on down in Fountain? Well, I'll tell ya! LiveWell Fountain, with the help of fantastic volunteers are building edible gardens all over town. You are probably already aware of the garden that was started in late June, 2007, at 8201 Fountain Mesa near the Fire Station. At this location we are offering the public the opportunity to "adopt a bed" and grow what it wishes. We will provide a raised bed, the compost and water - you provide the plants and the TLC. We are getting started on another garden on the grounds of the First United Methodist Church at 1003 Sante Fe Avenue. We are always looking for volunteers to help with the planting and weeding. We are also working on a dryland wheat field at 0 Link Road.The photos are of one of our first work days at that location. The locally famous Draft Horses Sky & Sage were on hand to give rides around the field as they worked the earth.
