Take a walk on the wild side... Tour the Wolf Rescue Center in Divide.
I remember those nights when my hair stood on end and my blood ran cold ...
As we camped out in the backyard late at night, my older brother would be telling tales to my little sister and I of the wolves and their kills. Just as he got to the part where he investigated the remains of a kill near our home, only to turn over a human head, the howls from the woods would begin....
Well, they were coyotes but what do elementary kids know? Regardless, we ran into the house to sleep as my brother stayed out alone no-doubt laughing himself to sleep. I have been fascinated by wolves ever since. Of course as an adult I now know that there are far too many wolves killed by people and the reverse is a very tall tale. Yet the lives, habits, and and uncanny behavior of the wolf is captivating.
See for yourself. Check out these pics and then take a visit to the Wolf Rescue Center.
