Colorado Springs, CO (September 20, 2006) -- In this day of fiercely competitive college admissions, college-bound students are seeking any edge they can get to boost their chances of getting into outstanding colleges. A frank and open discussion of admission may be just the information they need. Ed Gillis, Executive Vice President of Enrollment Management and Executive Director of Admission at University of Miami will provide a fresh perspective on Tuesday, October 10. The program begins at 7:00 p.m. at The Colorado Springs School's Louisa Performing Arts Center, located at 21 Broadmoor Avenue. The program is free and open to the public; no reservation is required.

Gillis has over 35 years of experience in college admissions at four different institutions. He started at the University of Miami in 1992 as Director of Admission. Prior to joining the University of Miami, he was Director of Admission at Bentley College in Massachusetts and served as President of the New England Association of College Admissions Counselors. He also served as an advisory board member of the College Information Exchange, which organizes recruitment tours in Mexico and South and Central America. He also has been involved in an ongoing enrollment management consultation with the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
