In the Shadow of the Moon to play for only three daysWorld Space Week October 4th through 10thMore than 50 nations and the U.S. are celebrating 50 years of space with the launching of Sputnik 1 on October 4, 1957
In the Shadow of the Moon is an incredible documentary about the United States Apollo space program. It's an intimate thrill-ride, a patriotic epic that vividly communicates the daring, the danger, the pride, and the promise of this extraordinary era in history when the whole world literally looked up at America. It is an inspiring, funny, uplifting first-hand account of one of the greatest endeavors in human history.
The Apollo space program literally brought the aspirations of a nation to another world. Between 1968 and 1972, nine American spacecraft voyaged to the moon, and 12 men walked on its surface.
In the Shadow of the Moon brings together for the first, and possibly the last, time surviving crew members from every single Apollo mission that flew to the moon along with visually stunning archival material re-mastered from the original NASA film footage. It provides a unique perspective on the precious state of our planet.
