COSROCS (Colorado Springs Rocket Society) is a community service/educational organization and has a midpower/model rocket launch every 4th Saturday of the month, year round, 9:00AM to 1:00PM at the "StarGate" near Peyton, CO. We postponed (via postings on the web site) this month's launch from Saturday to Sunday. If you missed the 1/28 launch, it was sweater weather, sunscreen was required, there was 2 mph wind, and Ilene served hot cookies for the surprisingly large turnout. A few plastic parachutes shredded from the cold, which created some exciting landings. A lot of Christmas kit projects were launched for the first time. Check out the
photos page on the COSROCS web site for a photo album of the event. Plus, on the same page, there's a video of a violently exciting launch of an F- powered egg launcher (check out the initial ignition frame-by-frame).
Clearly, it was a blast.
