Poor Richard's "Off the Beaten Path"
Contributed by: Constance Gelvin   on 4/30/2008

Like most Colorado Springs' downtowners I've been going to Poor Richard's restaurant/bookstore since it opened (and once it re-opened after a fire.)

Well, now readers of Writer's Digest magazine know that it's the place to be for aspiring Colorado Springs' writers.

In the June 2008 issue of the magazine in an article entitled "Literary Hotspots" ("your essential guide to living the lit life") under the heading "Off the Beaten Track" author Kirsten Akens had this to say about one of C Springs most popular spots:

"By far, the best place in town is the Poor Richard's complex (320 No Tejon St.) a bookstore, cafe and restaurant. In Poor Richard's Bookstore, you can find tons of used books for inspiration, and there are large tables for groups and space for signings. In Rico's Coffee, Chocolate and Wine Bar you can find a table by yourself for some serious writing. And if you're hungry, Poor Richard's Restaurant offers the best pizza, tapas and salads in town. There's free WiFi. And if you're fresh out of ideas, find a seat at the window--it's perfect for people watching."

Makes me want to stop by today!
