We are Varden "Bogie" and Jeanette Bogart. We are the owners of the Petworth franchise serving Colorado Springs and the surrounding communities.
This original franchise was established in 1996. We purchased the exclusive rights to deliver the company's specialty food and treats for the Colorado Springs area in March of 2003.
We were married in May of 1968, and have always worked with schedules that seemed to never be the same. We have two children; Jason and Jessica, both are married. Jason and his wife Auburn live in Grand Junction with our two grand dogs Wendell and Gandolf. Jessica and her husband Jesse live here in Colorado Springs with our two grandchildren. Billy, who was born in 2000 and SharahLynn was born in 2004.
Jeanette worked at McDonald's for 26 ½ years. She spent that time as a Restaurant General Manager, and supervisor. She spent the last 4 years as an Executive Assistant for Walgreen's here in Colorado Springs.
Varden retired after 28 years with the Colorado Springs Fire Department. He spent most of that time as a Driver Engineer. During his days off from the Fire Department, he owned and operated a construction company.
We order 20,000 to 40,000 pounds of bulk pet food and store it at our local warehouse. The food is less that a week old when it is delivered to us. All of our food is code dated for freshness, and we go thru this amount in two to three months. Our products are all natural, with no by-products or chemical preservatives. By-products can be any part of any animal, including beaks, fur, feathers, and bones. Petworth food is fit for human consumption and priced equivalent to or less than competitive premium pet foods like Eukanuba, Nutro, and Canidae.
Our customers can call in, e-mail, fax or order on line. We can also place them on a set schedule for automatic delivery. We deliver the food along routes laid out for us by special routing software.
We have been members, in good standing, with the Better Business Bureau, and Business Networking International.
At each customer's home, the order goes straight into a special Petworth container which the customer leaves sitting outside. We pour the bulk food into the barrel, making sure that all the food left in the container from the last order is placed on top of the new. We always leave extra treats, coupons, and newsletters.
Customers can order dog and cat food---dry or canned, as well as pet treats; dental care chews (Greenies), real bones, WILD bird seed, and other products and accessories.

The owners of Petworth of Colorado Springs would like to let you know that with everything that is going on with the recalls of pet food, Petworth food is safe. We continue to stay on top of all new recalls to be sure. We received word from our producers that they recently requested the FDA to inspect their plant and received a clean bill of health on all products. We do not use any products from overseas and none of our products contain Wheat Gluten, which seems to be the common denominator ingredient involved in the recalls.
