Welcome to Your Hub at ColoradoSprings.com
Contributed by: YourHub.com on 9/26/2006

Change is inevitable, and it has arrived at The Gazette.
If you are reading this you've found Your Hub at ColoradoSprings.com, the paper's new citizen journalism Web site.
You might ask, what in the name of Johannes Gutenberg is citizen journalism? The short answer is pretty simple. You, our readers, now have the opportunity to write the story. You can be the reporter and post your words on Your Hub at ColoradoSprings.com. And your words are important.
This is the frontier in news journalism, a place for you to share your thoughts, concerns and opinions. Anyone with something to say, a story to tell, a photo to share or information about an event, can post it. And readers are encouraged to start their own blogs on Your Hub at ColoradoSprings.com.
Our goal is to bring neighbors together in a "virtual town square," where every voice is welcome, where freedom of speech can thrive. We'll accept almost anything, photos of your child's birthday party or your parents' 50th wedding anniversary, your blog about the events at city hall or your vacation, or a news story from your homeowners' association.
Whether you are a soccer mom, a bank president, a business owner, a grandparent or a politician, we want to hear from you.
This new project begins with individual sites, or Hubs, for nine areas: Tri-Lakes, Black Forest, Briargate, Powers, Northwest, Central, Cheyenne Mountain, Falcon and Eastern Plains.
And the plan calls for adding Hubs in the remaining neighborhoods within a few months.
Change is coming to The Slice weekly papers as well. After five years, the final edition of Slice will print Oct. 18.
We intend to replace it with something better. The best stories, blogs and photos contributed by citizens will be printed in a Your Hub at ColoradoSprings.com newspaper.
Readers who currently receive The Slice will find the new product tucked into The Gazette each Thursday. The first Your Hub newspaper will arrive Oct. 26 in your home-delivered copy of The Gazette. It also will be available in various news racks.
The Slice was created to report neighborhood news, to give identity to the fast-changing Colorado Springs landscape. That ideal will continue and become more defined with Your Hub at ColoradoSprings.com. With your help, with your important words and photos, we hope to make your home feel a little more like home.
