Riverstone Residential Group Volunteers for Pikes Peak Therapeutic Riding Center
Friday, May 16 - Riverstone Residential Group is a National Property Management company managing approximately 188,000 apartment homes, including 60+ apartment communities in Colorado, with 16 of these communities in the Pikes Peak region. One core "dream" of the company is a deep dedication to serving the community, and being a good corporate citizen.
Elizabeth Murtha is a Vice President of Riverstone Residential. She, along with several other Riverstone associates, traded in their usual suits for jeans and helped clean out stalls. "Riverstone supports and encourages volunteerism in our community, and it's a privilege to be a part of that," Murtha says, "It's been a phenomenal experience to help out such a worthy cause."
Every Riverstone Residential Group associate is allowed eight paid hours of community service per year, and each region has a Volunteer Coordinator to make the most of each associate's contribution.
Pikes Peak Therapeutic Riding Center is a non-profit organization in Elbert, CO, focusing on therapeutic horseback riding for people of all disabilities, and encouraging independence. Therapeutic riding has been shown to increase balance and coordination, build self esteem, increase ability to listen, follow instructions, and learn.
Britany Hendrix is Riverstone Residential Group's Volunteer Coordinator for Colorado Springs. She said she chose Pikes Peak Therapeutic Riding Center because the work they do is important, and she wants to make sure they are not overlooked.
"This organization is in desperate need of help," Hendrix says, "They need people to assist with cleaning out the stalls, with office work, and they need people who are willing to go through a two-hour orientation to assist with the actual riding lessons."
A second volunteer day for Riverstone Residential Group is planned at Pikes Peak Therapeutic Riding Center on June 3rd. If you would like to attend this volunteer event, or if you are interested in information about volunteering for PPTRC, you may contact Britany Hendrix at Grand River Canyon Apartments for information (719) 266-4111.
