Have you ever wondered what it would be like to work on the International Space Station and to be part of a team in locating and researching comets? Saturday, June 21 is your opportunity to explore this possibility. The Challenger Learning Center of Colorado will open its doors to the public for a "Rendezvous with a Comet" mission at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2008.
"Rendezvous with a Comet" is a simulated space mission where astronauts and mission specialists become a team to plot a rendezvous course with a comet, launch a probe and collect scientific data. What may seem to be a routine mission comes with surprises and emergencies.
This is a great opportunity for anyone that has a desire to learn more about being an astronaut or to experience guiding the astronauts from mission control.
The Challenger Learning Center of Colorado offers a variety of space-centered educational missions. The Center also has summer space programs for students entering grades 1 - 12. Registration is required to join in this public mission. Participants
