Let me tell you about one of my favorite places to shop in Colorado Springs-Creative Awards. This isn't a place to buy clothing or food, but incredible, personalized, quality items for friends, co-workers, volunteers, and even yourself!

It started 16 years ago in Bill and Rhonda Walter's home, with a hand engraver. It was a bit of a hobby, engraving trophies and the like. Bill worked as a crane foreman at the time and never dreamed that one engraver would blossom into a full-time career that would eventually consume the entire lower half of his suburban home!

I met Bill and Rhonda face-to-face for the first time yesterday, when I went to pick up a mug I had special-ordered for a going-away gift. Prior to yesterday I would e-mail Bill and/or phone him with the items I needed, then my husband would pick the items up. It started with a very special mug for a very special person-I wanted something really cool, with one of my own digital pix on the mug and a special message. I'd seen some picture mugs before and wasn't impressed-the images seemed pretty temporary, washing off after a few washings. I asked Tina at Moore Promotional Products-another one of my favorite places-if she knew who could help me out and she gave me Bill's number at Creative Awards. Bill took my order and within a week I had my mug and wow, it was really nice! A big, sturdy mug with an image that can't be dish-washed or heated off! I gave my gift and it was a big hit. Since then I've ordered several mugs for different occasions. They've been great.

But guess what else Creative Awards does? They can take any digital (or other) image that you have and put it on just about ANYTHING! I've had a couple of tile murals made for walls in my home and I just love them! Your favorite family photo, pet, event, car; in fact, just about anything at all, can be put on single, nicely-framed tiles, tile murals, a variety of mugs, trophies, and other items. Creative Awards makes trophies, plaques, tiles, medals, plastic signs, license plate frames, Formica plaques, laser engravings, key rings, name tags, and I'm not quite sure what else, to tell you the truth.
