The sun was barely up yesterday when nearly 225
supporters, volunteers, and Girl Scouts united at Girl Scouts - Wagon Wheel Council's sixth annual Believe in Girls Breakfast. The attendants opened their hearts - and their wallets - to partner with the council in their mission to build girls of courage , confidence , and character , who make the world a better place.
According to an early count , the event generated almost $40,000 in unrestricted funding for Girl Scouts - Wagon Wheel Council , which will be used to support all of Wagon Wheel Council's programs including: outreach programs for disadvantaged youth; resident and day camps; science , technology , engineering and mathematics programs; and council-specific community service programs.
The breakfast featured inspirational speakers , including Lynne Telford , Jennifer Barber , Carol Kleiner and girl members Jennifer Green , Hannah Eskeldson , and Jaime Sparks. The program also included a performance from Colorado Springs Youth Symphony members Calvin Armstrong , Margaret Babb , Natalie Cominiello , and Anna George , as well as a compelling slideshow that highlighted the year's programs and activities.
