FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
THE TRI-LAKES MUSIC ASSOCIATION IS RECRUITING SINGERS AND ORCHESTRA MUSICIANS
The Tri-Lakes Music Association, a non-profit organization, is recruiting musicians, both vocal and orchestral, for a new musical endeavor - a July 4th concert!! The musical selection for this concert is Randy Vader's "Sweet Land of Liberty" and is a collection of wonderfully patriotic and spiritual songs as well as songs of the American culture.
The Tri-Lakes Music Association has performed six very successful Christmas concert series and this is the first time for a mid-year concert and also a first that the concert will be held outdoors. This concert will be performed prior to the wonderful fireworks display in Palmer Lake. "We are also hoping to have an indoor concert on Tuesday the 3rd for those that can't make it to Palmer Lake." said Bob Manning, founder and director of TLMA, "The plans for this concert will be announced when the details are completely worked out"
There will be two identical vocal rehearsals each week starting on Sunday April 15th, 2PM, at Trinity Lutheran church located at 17750 Knollwood. The second weekly, vocal rehearsal starts Monday April 16th, 6PM also at Trinity Lutheran church. "We also want to publicly thank Trinity Lutheran for all the support they have shown for not only our Christmas concert series but now this new endeavor" said Manning. Orchestral rehearsals will start in mid May and anyone interested should contact Bob Manning. The orchestra consists of typical band instruments with the addition of a strings section.
Anyone and everyone with a desire to sing & have fun is encouraged to come and join this group. In past years the choir has consisted of 70 to 125 members as well as 30-35 orchestral members which makes for a wonderful ensemble. For those that can't make time for a weekly rehearsal, another option exists. The association has purchased "practice cds" that allow a singer to practice the concert material in the comfort of their home or automobile. "We have been very successful with this option" Manning said, "as it allows the singers to practice at their leisure and work section that are most difficult for them. Although we encourage the singers to attend rehearsals as this is most of the fun, we have had singers in the past that have practiced with the whole group only a few times and still be able to contribute adequately".
"This event should truly be a community wide happening, very similar to the very successful annual empty bowl dinner" said Bob Manning, founder and director. "The group that comes together to perform these musical works do it out of the goodness of their heart and soul. We will spend countless hours preparing for and putting on a very professional concert. The groups are not made up of paid professionals but local community members who have a need, a desire to give back to the community in which they live. This event is funded by several local churches and community members and the community is encouraged to contribute if they so desire.
