Black Forest fine artist Carol McIntyre isn't a travel agent, but her paintings will move you to a place, time, or memory that will make you feel like you've been there before or want to go there soon. Using a painterly realistic style and a harmonic use of color, McIntyre often taps nature's pathways or waterways to draw people into her pieces.
Carol McIntyre is a recent transplant from Minnesota to Black Forest, CO, bringing with her years of artistic experience in the media of watercolor, pastel, and oils. Her Black Forest studio adjoins the home that she and her husband built in 2005, and a view of Pikes Peak. McIntyre remarks, "Living and painting in the Black Forest immediately connects me with Mother nature - my solace."
On
Saturday and Sunday, October 20-21, from 10 am to 4 pm, you are invited to experience the visual vacation concept first hand at her first annual studio gallery open house located at
10710 Teachout Road in Black Forest. Guests will have an opportunity to enter a drawing for a painting valued at $300 and to purchase her current works featuring a variety of landscape venues and subject matter.
You'll also learn about McIntyre's intriguing concept for creating commissioned artwork called
Paintings of Your Treasured Memories. This approach offers the customer a chance to design a painting that evokes a special meaning or memories. A significant place like the romantic cafe where you fell in love, or that family cabin overlooking a mountain stream or your hole-in-one golf hole are good examples.
