Literati and Beyond - Writer's Circle
If you are a writer who is published, or you have never written before, are young or "seasoned", are interested in fiction, poetry, history, and/or any other genre, we would love to have you join us!
We have guest speakers coming to our meetings that range from publishers, agents, writers, and more. We share our publication information on where to go, how to do it, what it takes. We write impromptu paragraphs, talk about critiquing, and have different topics for each meeting.
Our main leader is Nancy Jurka, who is a published author, a writing teacher, and an exciting dynamic writer who brings her passion to this group. We leave with new ideas, renewed enthusiasm for our writing, and excitement about what we are doing!
Want to join us? We meet once a month, at the Monument Library, on the 4th Wednesday. All you need to bring is a pen or pencil and a writing pad! If you would like more information, go to
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TheLiteratiandBeyondWritersCircle/ where you can sign up, learn about what we have planned. Or, you can call Mary K Jones at 488-0653, or Chuck Robinove, at 481-8974.
Michele Sample, our community journalist with "Your Hub" for the Colorado Springs Gazette, will be one of our speakers for our April 23rd meeting, and she will be talking about how to submit articles to the newspaper, (YourHub), how to submit photographs, and more. Helen Hunt Jackson (portrayed by Doris McCraw)was present at our March meeting, and we were lucky enough to have this famous author speak to us about her life and passions. Again, we welcome you all.
