AVOID IDENTITY THEFT - SHRED IT, FREE!
The Colorado Attorney Generals Office, AARP ElderWatch, and Black Forest AARP Chapter #1100, working together, will sponsor a "Fight Fraud - Shred Instead" event from 9 AM -12 PM on May 17 at the old Black Forest Fire Station, 12510 Black Forest Road. A mobile shredder truck will be on site for this purpose. All shredded documents will be recycled.
This is an unique opportunity for the public to safely discard personal and financial documents that are no longer needed or required. Consumers are limited to three copy paper boxes or one large trash bag of documents.
"This is a great opportunity for people to safely destroy old personal and financial paper documents. We have once again teamed up with the international shredder company Shred-It who is providing these shredding trucks to consumers free of charge. We want people to know how important it is to shred documents and protect themselves from identity theft", says Amy Nofziger, AARP ElderWatch Program Leader.
