Welcome to Sample's blog. I am a mom of three young girls and live in a great neighborhood and community. A very small town with a huge heart. I struggle with a theme for my blog, so I will just tell you that it is about everyday life as a mom, wife, friend, community journalist and sports enthusiast. I truly believe everyone is interesting and has a story to tell. I hope to share some interesting, funny, insightful and informative blogs that you can relate to as a parent, friend, neighbor, YMCA sports fan, working mom, dad, at home or outside the home, everyday joe about everyday life.

February 29 marks Leap Year Day. Every four years an extra day is added to the calendar, thanks to the Romans who figured out that our solar system and calendar weren't quite in sync.
People are celebrating all over the United States.

"The Martha Stewart Show" is taping a special audience of only Leap Day Babies in New York. The Hotel Monaco in Portland is throwing a birthday party for 'Leapies', supplying complimentary champagne and cake.

The Leap Year Capital of the World, Anthony, Texas, is hosting the 6th Quadrennial World Wide Leap Year Festival. Morton's Steakhouse in Pennsylvania is offering a free dinner to the first 29 "leaplings" to make reservations.

The chances of being born on Feb. 29 are about one in 1,400.
